Laser Change on a Bang Olufsen Beosound 9000 MK3

Laser Change on a Bang Olufsen Beosound 9000 MK3

Today we have in a gorgeous B&O Bang and Olufsen 9000 in for repair as it will not read discs.

It’s clear to see when opening this player up it has been well maintained with all ribbon cables in their correct respective position and correctly secured.

The faulty laser has been changed for a high-quality model for our trusted suppliers that utilizes original Philips components, these replacement lasers give pitch-perfect sound output and superb reliability.

Following a rigorous 100-point check post-repair, a couple of issues were identified and resolved to ensure optimal player performance.

Specifically, the tacho wheel was slightly rubbing, causing some unwanted noise, but this issue was promptly addressed through careful adjustments. Additionally, the geartrain in the glass lid motor was found to be dry, so a judicious application of lithium grease was carefully administered to reduce noise during operation.

Finally, all electrical components were visually inspected for any signs of heat damage or deterioration and found to be in excellent condition.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the successful restoration of yet another Beosound 9000 MK3 player.
